The BS about this is legally by law in Canada you have to make minimum wage thus I no longer tip and I think that should be common practise for Canadian's if you rely so heavily on tipping and hate when you dont get tipped that sounds like a you problem time to find a new job/career.

In some countries, Even tips are being taxed and thats the reason I rarelly do it, Unless the service was really good. Then I like to just give the tip personally to the person

Well I make $2.13 an hour. I work really hard and then some people literally will take up your table and be super needy... And be dicks and not tip. Tip your servers if they do a good job come on.

Please don’t tip in Japan. The service fee is already included in your bill and it’s like you’re insinuating that the waitstaff is poor and needs extra cash.

what people don't realize is it's a six of one deal. If tipping wasn't a thing, the food would just cost more. It's not even a conversation.

People saying “pay your employees” to Americans when here in the UK our minimum wage isn’t a liveable wage. I sure as hell don’t mind tipping people who work long anti social hours for very little money.

Not gonna lie all of you make me just a bit sick.

Not because you may or may not tip, but because you might believe this garbage as to why or why not.

I am a career bartender. And I am pro tipping.

Please tip your wait staff, if they don’t do a good job talk to a manger on the way out.
But if nothing else just know that our way of life is the remnant of a government decision a hundred years ago,
                        Not restaurant owners greed now.

That being said, IF you are going to be against tipping then at least be educated correctly as to where it comes from. And that has nothing to do with George Washington or Canada anything else before prohibition. It is a remanent from 1919.

Pre-prohibition front of house of restaurants made money with booze, back of house made money with food and the proprietor payed everyone to do their jobs.

During prohibition restaurant proprietors couldn’t make money on booze. But, guests not wanting to serve themselves were willing to pay people T.I.P.S.; To Insure Proper Service. Which made serving people food and pouring people drinks a viable option for employment again.

Fast forward 14 years (from prohibitions start) the restaurant industry had found a way to live breath and flourish even with the government quashing half their income.
But it came with an added tipping culture that we have thrived on.

I’m Sorry that that’s how it is now, but do you really want to kill our way of lives because you don’t want to kick out an extra couple nickels?

Once I learnt about tipping I sent an email to her telling that she should put a sign explaning about tips considering a good part of her clients are foreigners.

It’s a type of “financial domination” cuckolding practiced by Americans who love to watch their wife’s be intimate with other men and then also give their hard earned money to random people. Tipping is a meme for the mentally incompetent. Nobody deserves tips because they shouldn’t exist. I have never tipped in my life. Even on holidays in US.

I don’t know about the rest of the world but you should do your research before just singling out countries. - Fellow Canadian who just wants all countries to be treated equally haha.
